A beautiful city bus is actually the same “small architectural forms” that decorate our streets. There were times when LiAZ did not particularly please the eye. Engines for buses produced in Likin-Dulyovo, produces YaMZ. These motors are the fruit of the joint work of Yaroslavl and the Austrian company AVL. The six-cylinder YaMZ-536 with a working volume of 6.65 l develops 240-312 hp, the four-cylinder YaMZ-534 with a capacity of 4.3 liters produces 190-210 hp
In November 2016, Yaroslavl was put on the conveyor engines YaMZ-534 CNG and YaMZ-536 CNG (150 to 312 hp). The abbreviation CNG stands for compressed natural gas. Both engines are not prone to overheating and will find application in trucks and buses intended for operation in the city.
The fuel system is Bosch common rail, the injection pressure is 1800 bar (with the possibility of increasing to 2000 bar). To meet the requirements of Euro-4 and Euro-5 eco-standards, the engines were equipped with an EGR system with liquid cooling. For efficiency, the engines of the YAMZ-530 family are able to compete with foreign ones, while it is 20-30% cheaper. The declared resource of diesel “fours” is not less than 700 thousand kilometers, the “sixes” – 900 thousand.
The new motors significantly reduced the noise and vibration level in the rear of the bus compared to the previous Cummings and Caterpillar engines.

Automatic transmissions on new Liaz trucks imported – ZF EcoLife with electronic control Either Allison Transmission T2100 or T270. Both 6-speed, with the lock-up of the torque converter on each gear. The torque converter is also used as a retarder, and it is integrated into the working braking system, which allows you to protect the pads. Another automaton is the 4-speed Voith Diwa D 864. Imported boxes noticeably raise the price of the bus, but the GAZ Group is already working on its own family of automatons with a hydrotransformer.
The mainline port bridges ZF with clever airborne Reducers. Schematically, they are similar to the army bridges of “Uziks” and all-roads Benz Unimog. Such bridges allow you to lower the floor from a height of 405 mm from the ground to 205 mm – of course, when using the appropriate tires.
Will there be national portal bridges? There is a hope that their release will be mastered in Chuvashia, at the Kanashsky auto-aggregate plant, which is part of the GAZ Group.
